Raphael Lessard is Snowball Derby ready and set for a prestigious season closer

Another season is coming to an end this weekend for Raphaël Lessard, the young St-Joseph-de-Beauce driver, as he will participate on Sunday, December 3rd, in the 50th edition of the Snowball Derby at the Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. This 300 lap-race will be the 23rd and final race of the 2017 season for the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) driver.

A year ago at this same race, Lessard had managed a great comeback finishing 10th after starting 31st. It was an amazing performance that was noticed by his peers, especially considering that he was involved in a race incident on the 95th lap which had required a pit stop afterwards.

Lessard, driver of the Toyota Camry #99, will be part of the first qualification session on Friday evening, along with 65 of the best Super Late Model drivers in North America who will be going after the 37 positions available on the starting grid. Kyle Busch, a regular in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup, will be among the high profile drivers vying for a spot.
