Jaiden Reyna Looks To Carry Momentum Into Bojangles’ Summer Shootout

Attracting top up and coming racers from across the nation, the annual U.S. Legends Bojangles’ Summer Shootout returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway for 10 rounds of racing action beginning on June 12th and culminating with Championship Night on August 1st. With momentum building from a successful start to the season, Hampton Roads, Virginia native Jaiden Reyna is looking forward to getting down to business on the famous Speedway’s frontstretch quarter-mile with great anticipation. In the recently concluded Spring Series at Concord Speedway, the young Bandolero racer racked up eight top-5’s in nine races, including a trio of podium finishes.

“The success I’ve had in the Spring season at Concord Speedway has been really phenomenal,” Reyna recently stated. “We have a lot of top-5 finishes so far this year. I feel like we could win ourselves a couple of championships this season.”

The 10-year-old is quick to give credit for his early-season success, and his enthusiasm to get back to action at Charlotte, to a relationship his family-owned team has formed with Tretow Racing this year. “Tretow Racing is working on my car this year, and Jake Tretow is my coach,” Reyna explained. “He races Legend Cars, so he helps me a lot with my race line and my marks. After having problems with our car last year, my mom decided to have someone else work on my race car this season. Having teammates for the first time is really cool – I like having friends at the track to talk to and hang out with.”

Jaiden is currently ranked 6th in the nation among over 85 ranked drivers in the Bandolero Bandit Division. He is the 3rd highest ranked Virginia driver. The Bojangles’ Summer Shootout is known for producing some of motorsports’s top talent, with drivers including Joey Logano, Austin Dillon, Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace among current alumni in NASCAR’s top-tier divisions.

The first open practice for the Summer Shootout is June 6th. The season kicks off with a double-header on Monday, June 12 and Tuesday, June 13th, before continuing with a Tuesday only schedule between June 20th and July 25th. The season concludes with another double-header on July 31st and August 1st.

“I’m even more excited for the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout this year because my car has been handling so great since Tretow Racing has been setting it up,” Reyna concluded. “I know I have a car that can run up front now, so I’m really eager to show everyone what I can do.”
