Baize to Compete in Memphis 125 at Memphi

After several weeks away from the track, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East is set to return to competition at Memphis International Raceway competing in the Memphis 125.

Hunter Baize will pilot the No. 13 entry for Martin-McClure Racing. Baize, who is currently seated fifth in driver points standings, will be under direction of crew chief Rick Ren. Ten, who joined the MMR organization for the Zombie Auto 125 at Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this season, brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience as crew chief in all of NASCAR’s top-tier series.

Memphis International Raceway boasts a D-shaped asphalt .75mile racing surface. This will be the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East’s first race at Memphis International Raceway.

Eric McClure:

“These last few weeks away from the track have provided us the opportunity to regroup following our races in South Boston. Thinking back to South Boston, I am still so incredibly humbled by the strength, talent, and dedication of our driver, Hunter Baize, and the rest of the MMR team.

We fought through adversity as one cohesive unit and brought home a strong finish in the second race. As a team owner, I take to Memphis an excitement for the race weekend knowing that we will be able to handle anything that comes our way.

I look forward to watching Hunter wheel his way around Memphis. He’s a talented driver and a joy to have in our organization.”

Hal Martin:

“I was privileged to make one start at Memphis International Raceway during my career as a NASCAR driver. It was in the Camping World Truck Series back in 2009. In that race, Rick Ren served as crew chief for Ron Hornaday and they were nothing short of impressive.

Now, Rick Ren will serve as crew chief for a team that I co-own. The significance of this doesn’t pass me by, I’m honored to have had such talented crew chiefs join our organization to help our drivers accomplish their goals as athletes and our organization accomplish it’s goal as well.

Hunter has had one start in a late model race at Memphis International Raceway, himself. This seat time will prove advantageous for him. The team is ready to continue the season long points battle and we are ready to compete.”

Hunter Baize:

“All of us at MMR are ready to be back on track. Other than race one of the twin 100s at South Boston, when we suffered a cut right front tire, we’ve yet to finish worse than seventh this season. The consistency we’ve shown is a big factor that has kept us in the championship discussion.

But I know the entire team is as hungry to visit victory lane as I am. I’m excited to have that opportunity again this weekend in the Memphis 125.”
