Cole Anderson Ready for ARCA Debut with Mason Mitchell Motorsports at Hometown Elko Speedway

Super late model standout Cole Anderson will make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut next month at the Elko Speedway for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) driving the No. 78 Chevrolet.

“I am really looking forward to making my ARCA debut at Elko,” Cole stated. “It’s going to be great racing in front of family and friends. I grew up 20 minutes for Elko Speedway so this will be a homecoming for me. You have to be elbows up every lap racing at Elko. Navigating lapped traffic and picking the right lane will be key. MMM has a strong short track program. I really see no reason why we can’t end up in victory lane at the end of 250 laps. I’m really looking forward to making the next step in my racing career and racing with the ARCA Series.”

Anderson grew up 20 minutes from Elko Speedway in Northfield, Minnesota. Anderson ran full-time in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the Elko Speedway in 2014 earning two victories, seven top-five finishes and 18 top-ten finishes in 19 starts. He’s also made two starts with the ARCA Midwest Tour at the 3/8-mile track.

This marks the first time since 2014 that ARCA will return to the Elko Speedway.

“We had a great test with Cole at New Smyrna back in February,” Mitchell explained. “He’s a hometown kid with a lot of laps around Elko. I feel like our short track program is the best that it’s been at MMM. I think we will be able to give his friends and family a lot to cheer about during the race.”

Anderson’s enjoyed success in the late model ranks winning the Red Eye 100 at New Smyrna Speedway. In 2016, he won two races with the Southern Super Series at South Alabama Speedway and at Montgomery Motor Speedway while capturing the series rookie of the year honors. Anderson was also selected as one of the 51 drivers selected in the Speed 51 Short Track Draft in 2017.

MMM has one prior start at Elko earning a top-ten finish in 2014 with owner Mason Mitchell.

The Shore Launch 250 will be live on MAVTV Saturday, June 3rd at 9:00 pm ET. Arcaracing.com will have live timing and scoring for all on-track activities throughout the day.
