MDM Motorsports ARCA Racing Series Review: Talladega Superspeedway

MDM Motorsports was victorious at Talladega Superspeedway in this weekend’s running of the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards General Tire 200. When the checkered flag flew, Justin Haley, was out front in the No. 28 MDM Motorsports entry.

After rain canceled qualifying on Friday and forced the General Tire 200 to begin a day later than originally scheduled, Haley started 23rd and worked his way into contention for the victory over the course of the event. With Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series spotter, Kevin Hamlin, on the roof guiding him in his Talladega Superspeedway debut, the 18-year-old Indiana driver made several strong moves that included avoiding some vicious wrecks to score his second career ARCA Racing Series victory. He won at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack on August 21 of last year.

“What a day,” said Haley, “I’m pumped to put MDM Motorsports in victory lane. The car was flawless, thanks to Kevin Bellicourt and the guys on the No. 28 team. Having Kevin Hamlin up on the spotter stand this weekend guiding me through the race made my job easy. I just can’t say enough about all the hard work the MDM Motorsports guys put into their program.”

In addition to their victory at Talladega Superspeedway, MDM Motorsports scored two additional victories in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East on Saturday. Travis Miller and Harrison Burton both scored victories in the WhosYourDriver.org Twin 100s. Next up for the ARCA Racing Series is the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway on May 21 live on FS1.
