Whelen Modifieds Thunder into Langley Speedway This Weekend

Call it a northern invasion of sorts, maybe a north meets south when the unified Whelen Modified Tour swings into Langley Speedway this weekend.

For the first time on the tour and since 2015 the ground pounders are returning this time with a northern flair of drivers that will make the trek down for a 150 lap showdown in the Commonwealth.

Ryan Preece who is making his return this year to the modified tour after running in the NASCAR Xfinity schedule for a year took home the win in the last event at Stafford Speedway in a duel over Doug Colby with 13 to go in the Spring Sizzler. Preece in going to victory lane was also the first time he has done so since Bristol back in the fall of 2015.

With the tour heading into the Commonwealth Rowan Pennink heads up the points by one over Timmy Solomito with Justin Bonsignore 16 behind.

Weekend action from Langley Speedway will kick off with practice from 3:40 – 4:55 p.m followed by group qualifying at 7:15 p.m with the Langley 150 set for 8:30 p.m.
