Hunter Baize to Compete in Zombie Auto 125 at Bristol Motor Speedway

The third race of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East schedule will bring the Martin-McClure Racing team to their home track – Bristol Motor Speedway. Hunter Baize and the No. 13 team, under direction of Crew Chief Chris Carrier, will compete in the Zombie Auto 125 continuing their full-season campaign. Carrier served as crew chief for Martin-McClure Racing in the same event last season and secured the organization’s first win in the series. Baize and the No. 13 team currently sit 4th in series points standings.

Martin-McClure Racing welcomes Lightning Auto Sales and Morgan-McClure Chevrolet to the organization. The companies lead a strong local flavor as sponsorship partners on Baize’s No. 13 entry.

Bristol Motor Speedway, affectionately known as “The Last Great Colluseum” is a half mile, high banked, race track with a concrete racing surface. The track boasts multi-groove competitive racing throughout each event.

Eric McClure:

“We’ve been nothing but consistent this season. Hunter has driven smart races and has put us in a great position points wise early in the season. Last year, Hunter had a solid race running in the top-5 before a mechanical issue took him out of contention. He’s shown himself to be a very strong racecar driver and I’m confident in the preparation by our team.

This race is always one of my favorites being that it’s been so close to home. We’re grateful for the local businesses that have shown support for our organization leading into the weekend. My family’s win at BMS changed their future in 1990 and last year’s win at BMS seems to have opened doors for growth for us. I’m looking forward to a strong weekend from Hunter, Chris and the team as we continue our full season campaign.”

Hal Martin:

“This weekend we return to Bristol Motor Speedway for the Zombie Auto 125. This race is a huge event for our team. When we competed last year, we turned some heads and had a strong showing. It is important for us to stay focused, stay humble and treat this race like every other event we will compete in this season. We have to keep the big picture in mind – we are engaged in a full season campaign and are in the running for the championship. Consistency will be key this season. I know Hunter will drive a smart race and will be competitive. I’m looking forward to the weekend and to another strong effort from our MMR organization.”
Hunter Baize:

“I really like our chances at Bristol. Obviously MMR has a great package at BMS, having won there last year. I also had speed last year at Bristol, running in the top 5 before a mechanical failure took us out of the race with 10 laps to go. I look for us to contend for the win.

A win would be huge for us. It’d be awesome to get to my first NKNPSE win at my home track of BMS, and with a little luck we could leave Bristol as the points leader.”
