Hunt-Sellers Racing to Make Season Debut at Bristol Motor Speedway with Driver/Owner Sam Hunt

Hunt-Sellers Racing (HSR) announced today that the team will be fielding the No. 18 Toyota Camry for the Zombie Auto 125 at Bristol Motor Speedway with driver and team co-owner Sam Hunt.

Hunt will be making his debut as a team owner and driver this weekend – a rare combination amongst the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East field. Hunt partnered with long-time short-track driver Peyton Sellers in 2015 to create Hunt-Sellers Racing. Hunt will be behind the wheel for the first time as the team’s driver at Bristol.

“To be able to take a car to the track that is mine with a group of guys as good as we have is so exciting to me,” said Hunt. “Being in an ownership role has given me a completely different perspective on racing. Having other people in the race car and seeing it from a different angle, you begin to realize how much really goes into getting to the racetrack and all of the sacrifices involved. Everything seems so much more significant now than it did when I was just racing. It’s very humbling.”

Saturday night’s event will be Hunt’s first start at Bristol since 2014. Hunt has had three previous starts at the high-banked half-mile and is looking forward to being back at the track.

“Bristol is probably my best track and favorite track on the schedule,” said Hunt. “I’m excited to get back there, especially for my first race at the track since 2014. We were really good there my first year. We led some in practice, we qualified in the top 10, and maintained position in the top 10 throughout most the race.”

Considering Hunt’s history with the track, he explained that he has no doubt that the team will be fast once the car hits the concrete.

“I can’t thank the HSR guys enough for their hard work to get our car prepared for this race,” said Hunt. “This is a big opportunity for us, and we’re looking forward to tackling it. I also want to thank Toyota for their dedication towards our team.”
