Big Tine Back with Cunningham, Lee for Daytona

While the first race of the season for the ARCA Racing Series at Daytona is usually full of new faces, cars and paint schemes, Cunningham Motorsports (CMS) and Shane Lee’s No. 22 Ford Fusion will adorn a familiar look. Big Tine will be back on the hood as the primary partner for CMS at the famous 2.5-mile superspeedway this coming weekend in the Lucas Oil Complete Engine Treatment 200 Driven by General Tire.

“I’m really excited to have Big Tine on the car for this race,” said Lee. “They were an important part of Cunningham last year and to be able to have them on my car is really special.  It’s definitely big shoes to fill since the Big Tine car visited victory lane multiple times last season.

At Big Tine, our goal is to create the highest quality products which will support a healthy, flourishing deer herd. Nutritional reward is the key focus to every Big Tine product on the market. We do not use bi-products or fillers, because your deer deserve nothing but the best. That is also why the whole grains used in Big Tine are grown in Indiana on our farms, harvested and stored at our facilities to ensure a top quality product from planting to feeding.

“Our rookie year with #77, Cunningham and ARCA was one for the history books” said Mike Bassett, President and CEO of Scott Pet, manufacturer of the Big Tine brand. Bassett continues “our first season created a very exciting partnership for us and we are definitely looking forward to opportunities of our second season and car #22.”

“We established a great working and personal relationship with the Big Tine family in 2016,” said Cunningham co-owner Kerry Scherer. “It goes without saying that we are thrilled and honored that they have chosen to come back and be a part of Cunningham for the 2017 season.”

It’s no secret that Big Tine and CMS saw success with their partnership last season, taking six trips to victory lane with Briscoe behind the wheel in the No. 77 car. That success is something Lee and the entire Cunningham team hope to continue heading into the first race of the 2017 season.

“We’re happy to have Big Tine on the car for Daytona, especially with Shane and looking at how fast he was at Daytona for the test,” said veteran crew chief Paul Andrews. “We had Big Tine on the 77 all of last year with Chase and obviously had great results with that. We feel like we’ve got to hold up our end of the bargain with Big Tine being on the 22 car for the opening race of the season.”

If the race is going to shape up anything like the Daytona test, things are looking good for Lee and the Cunningham team as Lee found his way at the top of the speed charts before leaving the superspeedway.

“I think we definitely have a fast car going into the race,” said Lee. “The entire Cunningham team really did a good job and worked hard to give me a good car to bring to the track, that was evident during the test. Hopefully with Big Tine on the hood we can start the season off right and get a win and keep the victories coming for both Cunningham and Big Tine.”
