Vinnie Miller Added to MDM Motorsports 2017 Driver Development Program

MDM Motorsports has added driver Vinnie Miller to the team in 2017 as part of the team’s driver development program. The 19-year-old Ortonville, Mich., native will compete in six NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) events, and six Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) presented by Menards events.

Miller’s first NKNPSE race is slated for Sunday, February 19, at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway, while his ARCA debut is scheduled for Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville on Saturday, April 8.

I am extremely excited about the opportunity to drive for MDM Motorsports,” said Miller. “The team has been really competitive and has had success in the past, so I’m grateful for the opportunity.  Having Harrison Burton, Sheldon Creed, and a few others as teammates to learn from will be invaluable. My crew chief, Jamie Jones, is a veteran crew chief in NASCAR and I know that he and I will work hard to make our sponsor, Master Manufacturing, proud this season.”

Miller started racing at the age of five on quarter midget tracks in Michigan. Over the span of his young career, he has earned several victories and was crowned the Senior Honda Champion, Senior Stock Champion, and Junior Stock Champion.

At age 14, Miller moved to the Sportsman class, driving a 1981 Leaf Spring Camaro, he earned Rookie of the Year honors at Owosso (Mich.) Speedway.  In 2013, Vinnie finished inside the top five throughout the entire Sportsman season, and won eight of the 16 races in which he competed. His on-track success earned him the Edge of Your Seat Award,” an award given to the most competitive and aggressive driver voted on by Owosso Speedway staff and fans in Ovid, Mich.

In 2014, Miller advanced to the Pro Late Model division at Owosso Speedway where he finished the season second in the points standing out of 32 competitors. At season’s end, he was awarded with Rookie of the Year honors.

In the past two seasons, Miller competed in several Super Late Model races in the Pro All Stars Series, CARS Tour and 602 Tour. Miller posted his first Pro Late Model Series win last October at Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, Va.
