NWES Car Selected For The Race Of Champions For The Seventh Consecutive Time

On January 21st and 22nd the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series cars will be among the vehicles selected for the first North American edition of the Race Of Champions at the Miami Marlins Park in Miami, Florida.

The NWES car will be featured in the world famous off-season event for the seventh consecutive time thanks to its unique character and the ability to entertain the fans and every kind of driver, from beginners to World Champions.

ROC president Fredrik Johnsson said: “To win the Race Of Champions, some of the world’s best drivers must prove their skills in a wide range of different cars. We’re delighted the Euro-NASCAR will again be one of the challenges awaiting them at ROC Miami later this month. Their throaty roar never fails to excite the crowds and the drivers are sure to love throwing them around ROC’s unique track inside Miami’s Marlins Park.”

“We are very proud and happy to have our Euro-NASCAR cars selected for the Race Of Champions for the seventh year in a row. We have especially engineered them to provide a real and fun racing experience to drivers, so being selected to welcome aboard the best drivers of the world is definitely very special and a true statement of the quality of our cars and our work,” said NWES President CEO Jerome Galpin. “It’s always an honor and a pleasure to collaborate with Fredrik Johnson and his team in this worldwide event”.

The list of drivers taking part in this year’s Race Of Champions is impressive: NASCAR champions Kyle and Kurt Busch, Formula One champions Sebastian Vettel and Jenson Button, Indycar champions Ryan Hunter-Reay and Tony Kanaan, WRC and World Rallycross champion Petter Solberg, endurance legend Tom Kristensen and stars like Travis Pastrana, Juan Pablo Montoya and Alexander Rossi are just a part of the drivers that will delight the Marlins Park fans.

The tradition of the Race Of Champions dates back to 1988, when the first edition took place in Paris, and during the years has brought the best drivers of the world to race at the wheel of a variety of cars all over the World, from Gran Canaria to Beijing in a unique competition.

The 2017 edition of the ROC will consist of two days of intense action at the Miami Marlins Park in Miami, Florida: the Race Of Champions, with its classic direct-elimination format, will crown the Champion of Champions on Saturday Jan 21, while the ROC Nations Cup will take center stage on Sunday January 22 from 12:00 PM ET.
