NWES Returns To The Bologna Motor Show

After a huge success in 2014, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will be back at the Motor Show in Bologna, Italy with an exhibition race to be held on December 7 and a booth for the entire duration of the event, from December 3 to 11.

The race will be entitled to former driver Angelo Caffi, father of NWES driver and team owner Alex Caffi, and it will be held with an exciting knockout format according to the Motor Show tradition. The thundering V8s of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will take center stage on the 650-meter temporary track inside the “48 Racing Arena” on Wednesday December 7, when eight drivers will face each other in a qualifying session and a knockout tournament that will lead to the final that will crown the 1st Trofeo Angelo Caffi winner.

With a tradition dating back to 1976, the Motor Show is one of the most successful auto shows in Italy, thanks to a winning formula that combines the allure of shiny new models presented by manufacturers with the excitement of the “48 Racing Arena” on-track action.

“It this first season in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series we have built a very positive relationship with the NWES organization,” said Alex Caffi. “Racing the first edition of the Trofeo Angelo Caffi with the NWES cars on the Motor Show stage is a wonderful opportunity for everybody and it will bring the Trophy to an international level. I look forward to many more editions of this race.”

The Italian race fans will also be able to join the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series at the NWES booth in Pavilion 36 from December 3 to 11 to meet drivers and teams and have a close look at the 400hp beasts animating the official European NASCAR series.

The Entry List and the schedule of the 2016 “NASCAR Whelen Euro Series – Trofeo Angelo Caffi” race will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
