Every short track racer dreams of being a big league superstar, and now Calabrese Motorsports is giving those drivers a chance to achieve their dreams. An established team in both the NASCAR regional ranks and the ARCA Racing Series, Calabrese Motorsports is actively searching for one or more new drivers for their 2017 ARCA Racing Series and NASCAR K&N Pro Series schedules to work with and mold into superstar material.
Calabrese Motorsports is no stranger to auto racing. The family has been around the sport for decades and made their first foray into the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tours in 2013. Since then, the team has captured top-five and top-ten finishes with the open-wheeled cars and starting in 2016 they began fielding full-bodied cars such as those in the ARCA Racing Series and NASCAR K&N Pro Series.
Most recently, Calabrese Motorsports worked with late model standout Chad Finley in ARCA Racing Series efforts at Chicago, Michigan and Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis (formerly Indianapolis Raceway Park). Though the team fell victim to a mechanical failure at Chicago, Finley piloted the car to a sixth place finish in only his second ARCA Racing Series start of the season. In a NASCAR K&N Pro Series event at Dover in October, they claimed a tenth place finish together. Complete with his fleet of racecars, Finley has partnered with Calabrese Motorsports to help create this opportunity.
“We’ve really worked on getting our ‘fendered’ program up to snuff, and with the addition of Bruce Cook to our team this year, we made some leaps forward to where we are competitive anytime we unload our cars at any racetrack,” said David Calabrese, the family’s house driver for most of their events. “Now that the equipment is where it needs to be and our knowledge base is on par with others, we want to partner with a driver or two to help them develop their skills in the sport.”
With over 10,000 square feet of working space in their Mooresville, N.C., shop, Calabrese Motorsports is headquartered in the same business park that many have called their home recently including Kyle Busch Motorsports, Brad Keselowski Racing, Mason Mitchell Motorsports and more. The team has access to the latest technology including suspension developments related to geometry and shocks, a full-service pull-down and seven-post unit to setup the cars and find the smallest details to gain speed, a state-of-the-art chassis dyno for driveline maximization along with a pool of qualified specialists and crew members with decades of experience in NASCAR’s top tiers.
“We’re here and ready to be of service to someone wanting to make the jump to ARCA or K&N,” said Calabrese. “I really enjoy driving myself, but our family also enjoys seeing others be successful and having a small hand in making that happen. We go to the racetrack with the goal of winning every week and are looking for qualified drivers who want to do the same thing, and who can attract and bring funding to help boost their career. We have the tools and equipment, we simply need someone who wants to use our toolbox and combine it with their skills and abilities to build their career.”
