Hessert with Renewed Confidence Ready for Berlin

Tom Hessert will make his ninth consecutive visit to Western Michigan’s Berlin Raceway and his first since joining Venturini Motorsports in this weekend’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards – ARCA 200 on Saturday, August 6.

Hessert, a five-time ARCA Series winner known for his prowess on the short track, has tallied seven top-10 and 3 top-5 finishes at Berlin Raceway since making his first tour start on the unique 7/16 mile track back in 2010. Of Hessert’s five victories – four have come via the short track.

Currently fourth in ARCA’s driver championship point standings, Hessert will welcome back team partners, So Good! Entertainment & RelaxWraps.com on his No.25 Toyota at Berlin.

Looking to avenge last season’s Berlin outcome which ended with a late race accident and severely dampened his title chase – Hessert is eager for his return.

“Last time out at Berlin was a real heartbreaker,” says Hessert. “We were right in the thick of a title chase going into Berlin and left really disappointed after getting taken out by a lap car inside of the final ten laps. I’m going back this year ready to start a new streak and compete for a win. We made some positive changes last week which I feel it will translate well going into this weekend. Venturini prepared cars always seem to compete well on the short tracks – I’m confident and looking forward to seeing what we can do this week.”

For the second consecutive weekend Hessert will work with newly appointed crew chief Dave Leiner. Leiner, who took over for Ryan London after the July Iowa race, believes the two make a good recipe for success.

“I believe we as a team made some good gains with the 25 car in our first week working together,” said Leiner. “I believe our preparation this week will result in a really strong Berlin effort. I’ve worked with Tommy in the past and consider him a great driver – we’ve always had strong communication and reuniting with him for the rest of the season gives us a great shot moving forward.
