Dalton Sargeant Looks to Turn-Up the Heat at Indy

Still searching for his first ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards victory, Dalton Sargeant will look to break the ice this weekend in Friday night’s 12th running of the Sioux Chief PowerPEX® 200 presented by Jive at Lucas Oil Raceway (LOR).

Sargeant, driver of Venturini Motorsports’ No.55 Toyota Racing Development – Windows 10 Camry, has pressed the field in 2016 earing six top-5 finishes, including two runner-up efforts during his first eight career ARCA Series starts.

Of his eight series starts this season, four have come on short tracks – Salem Speedway, Toledo Speedway, Winchester Speedway and Iowa Speedway. In those attempts Sargeant has posted a solid 2.75 average finish.

“Nothing would be sweeter than earning my first career series win at Lucas Oil Raceway,” said Sargeant. “Indianapolis is a great racing town with tremendous amount of history at this track – it would be really special to add my name to the list of winners at Lucas Oil.”

Earlier this month Sargeant, along with his Venturini Motorsports teammates, completed a successful test at LOR’s .686-mile paved oval surface in preparation for this weekend’s event.

“We had a great test two weeks ago. We were able to make some good laps and do our best to simulate race conditions during the day and under the lights. We know it’s going to be a hot weekend and the track is going to change a lot between practice and the race. I’ve got great team backing and our 55-group is well-prepared. I’m excited to go back.”
