Short Turnaround Keeps Momentum Rolling for Scuderia Corsa

After conquering the famed Six Hours of the Glen just a few days ago, Scuderia Corsa now takes on Canada’s most daunting race track – the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

With four straight podium finishes, Scuderia Corsa drivers Christina Nielsen and Alessandro Balzan arrive at CTMP with a 13-point lead in the GT-Daytona driver’s championship. They are now looking for their fifth straight podium this weekend at CTMP, a circuit that features massive elevation changes and several challenging high-speed corners.

CTMP is a favorite for drivers and a true test of the machines, and the championship leaders are confident that the performance of the no. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 will bring another step toward the championship.

“I’m looking forward to racing at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park,” said Nielsen. “It’s a true high-speed track. Luckily, we gained some experienced through the high-speed corners at Watkins Glen. The Ferrari 488 GT3 is a car with a lot of down force, so hopefully that will benefit us. It probably won’t be the easiest track for us or our car, but it’s all about gaining points.”

With such a short time between last Sunday’s race at Watkins Glen and this Sunday’s race at CTMP, Scuderia Corsa is put right back into the fight for the GT-Daytona championship.

“Drivers and crew have been performing impeccably so far this year” said Giacomo Mattioli, Scuderia Corsa Team owner. “We know it’s a long season and competition is tough in the GT-Daytona class but we will keep fighting to further extend our Championship lead in the Canadian soil!”

Sunday’s race from CTMP will be shown live at 11:00 AM ET on FOX Sports 1, with qualifying streamed live on Saturday at 3:35 PM ET.
