Quin Houff is ready for the first CARS Tour race at Greenville Pickens

The fifth race of the CARS Racing Tour 2016 season is set for this weekend at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, the only new track on the Tour schedule this year. Entering the race third in the Super Late Model driver point standings after starting the year off with a win followed by three top ten finishes, Quin Houff is ready for the challenge of the historic .5-mile Easley, South Carolina track.

“I am really excited to go to Greenville Pickens for my first time in my LFR Chassis Super Late Model,” Quin commented. “The team and I are working really hard to get our Beatincancerwithduke.org Chevy back in Victory Lane! I look forward to learning the track, and working with the team as we dial it in for the Left Turns and Sunburns 200!”

A native of Weyers Cave, Virginia, Quin is one of just seven drivers chosen to represent the Kulwicki Driver Development Program (KDDP) during the 2016 racing season. He races with BeatinCancerwithDuke.org decals on the sides of his car and a pink ribbon decal on his hood to honor his mother as well as his grandmother, who are both fighting breast cancer.

“Cancer is an awful thing, and my whole purpose in promoting BeatinCancerwithDuke.org through racing is to give back to Duke – where my mom was treated – and let people know that if you or someone you know is fighting cancer, you’re not alone,” Quin says. “This is beatable, and you can overcome it.”

As per the normal CARS Tour weekend schedule, teams will have three practice sessions on Friday, followed by two practice sessions then qualifying (5:15pm) on Saturday. The green flag for the Left Turns and Sunburns 200 is scheduled for 7:30pm Saturday.
