Josh Williams Looking for Third Win of 2016 ARCA Season at the Winchester Speedway

Josh Williams and his family owned team Josh Williams Motorsports (JWM) have enjoyed success on short tracks so far during the 2016 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season. The teams earned two wins at the Fairgrounds Speedway and last weekend at the Madison International Speedway. This weekend the series heads to another short track, the fast high banked half-mile Winchester Speedway located in Winchester, Indiana.

“Winchester and Salem are very similar racetracks with similar characteristics,” Williams explained. “You have to drive them with the same mindset of conserving equipment. Winchester is a track you have to be on the wheel from lap 1 to lap 200 there’s no time to relax and things can happen in a hurry.”

“The win last weekend was huge for us as a team. We needed it mainly for momentum and confidence. We are working hard on our intermediate program with the new cars, we really want a win at a 1.5-mile track or bigger.”

Williams currently leads the Short Track Challenge presented by Protect Plus point standings and extended his lead with his win last weekend at Madison. This weekend marks the fifth leg for the Short Track Challenge.

Williams has four prior starts at the historic short track with a best finish of seventh coming last season.

This weekend also marks the halfway point in the ARCA Racing Series 20 race schedule. Williams currently sits second in ARCA championship points trailing leader Chase Briscoe by 115 points. In nine races Williams has earned two wins, three top-five’s and five top-ten finishes.

Practice for the ARCA Racing Series at Winchester is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 from 12:00-12:45 p.m., followed by final practice from 2:20-3:05. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell is at 6:00 p.m. Fans will be able to watch the Herr’s Potato Chips 200 live Sunday, June 26th on the American Sports Network (ASN) beginning at 2:00 p.m. Race fans can also stream the broadcast at AmericanSportsNet.com.
