Brady Boswell Rebounds for Sixth Place Finish at Michigan After Early Unscheduled Pit-Stop

Brady Boswell, driver of the No. 98 Chevrolet for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) rebounded from an early unscheduled pit-stop at lap 24 to record his second top-ten finish of the 2016 season Friday afternoon at the Michigan International Speedway (MIS) by finishing sixth.

“We got some debris on the grille pretty early on in the race and it really put us behind as we had to make an unscheduled pit-stop,” Boswell stated after the 100 lap event. “Our MMM team rallied back and we were able to rally late and finish sixth. I learned a lot all weekend long at MIS about the aerodynamics of these new ARCA composite cars and it will help later this season when we race at Kentucky and Kansas.”

Boswell started the afternoon from the sixth spot in the Corrigan Oil 200 and raced inside the top-five in the opening laps when the water temperature started to raise on his No. 98 car.

The 19-year-old wasn’t able to get the debris off the nose of the car and came down pit-road at lap 24 when the temperature reached 255 degrees. Luckily, two laps later the caution waved and Boswell was able to take the wave around and get back on the lead lap.

Over the course of the final 50 laps Boswell would race from 14th up into the sixth position. Several cars would have to pit for fuel during the final five laps and Boswell would come across the finish line in sixth. The finish marks back-to-back top-ten finishes for Boswell.

His next race behind the No. 98 is scheduled for next month at the Iowa Speedway.
