After a successful test at Hickory Motor Speedway with FHR, Will Martin is excited to officially announce he has signed a contract for multiple races and test sessions with the Jamie Yelton led development team. Will’s first race with the team will be the Pro All Star Series (PASS) South Super Late Model race at Hickory Motor Speedway on June 18th.
The test was important not only for Will to familiarize himself with the .363-miles banked oval, but also for both driver and team to have time to gel before taking on what will be a strong field in the PASS race. Multiple set-ups were tested with Will’s speeds increasing and gaining consistency throughout the day.
“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to be a part of Jamie Yelton’s FHR Driver Development Program,” Will commented during the test. “This track is tricky, especially during the heat of the day. It’s been a challenge to figure out, but we’re making gains. To be here at this track is huge for me and my family – we’re all very big Earnhardt fans – to be preparing to race where Ralph Earnhardt won countless races and five track championships is awesome.”
Will’s FHR car will be the No. 11 Chevrolet, with sponsorship from Precision Blasting, LLC. Performance Marketing Group, who announced Will as a client earlier this month, is credited with coordinating the negotiations between the Martin family and Jamie Yelton.
