NASCAR Hall of Fame Nominee: Jack Roush Preview

Jack Roush is a current NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series team owner. He has been in NASCAR since 1988. He currently has 135 wins and 87 poles, which continues to grow.

 

Roush was once a drag race owner and enthusiast. In 1988, Roush made what is considered “his best motorsports” decision by starting a NASCAR team. Roush is a graduate-level mathematician turned engineering entrepreneur. He currently boasts five owner championships. His drivers have won a combined three driver championships. Roush built his team with Mark Martin as the driver. Together, they won 83 NASCAR national series races. Roush is considered to have a prowess for discovering and developing talented drivers. Roush is credited to kickstart the careers of Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth, and Greg Biffle.

 

Greg Biffle, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Trevor Bayne drive for Roush in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Darrell Wallace Jr. and Ryan Reed drive for Roush in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Roush has been inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. He is the Chairman of the Board for Roush Enterprises.
