Justin Fontaine to compete in four events for Martin-McClure Racing

Following back-to-back wins to open its 2016 NASCAR K&N Pro Series campaign, Martin-McClure Racing (MMR) announced today that Justin Fontaine has been added to the team’s driver roster for four (4) KNPSE events during the balance of the season. Fontaine, a native of Asheville, NC, will drive the #39 ProMATIC Automation Toyota Camry beginning with the May 30 “Comserve Wireless 150” at Dominion Raceway.

At 18 years of age, Fontaine is in his third season of fulltime competition in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, competing mostly at Kingsport Speedway in Kingsport, TN, while also traveling to various tracks in the southeast as the schedule permits. With a pair of wins in 2015, including a pole position at the famed Myrtle Beach Speedway, Fontaine has proven a quick study. Like many, the young driver also competed in numerous events, winning multiple times, in feeder divisions before taking the step up to the ultra-competitive late model class. Under the guidance of veteran crew chief Chris Carrier, Fontaine aims to gain valuable competition experience as he takes the next step up the motorsports ladder.

Following the event at Dominion Raceway, MMR is scheduled to field an entry for Fontaine at Stafford Speedway, Iowa Speedway and Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

‘I’m looking forward to competing this season for MMR. I’ve had some success at the local short tracks and I feel I am ready to take the next step in my driving career. The NASCAR K&N Pro Series is that logical next step in moving forward and I’m looking forward to the challenges it presents. MMR has had a great deal of success recently and I’m looking forward to this opportunity.”

Eric McClure quote:
“We are excited to welcome Justin to the MMR organization. He has shown speed at all the different levels that he has competed and he has a strong desire to continue forward in his career. I am confident we can provide the necessary tools and personnel to help him accomplish the goals he has set forth. It’s an exciting time at MMR and we are looking forward to getting started with Justin.”

Hal Martin quote:
“I am thrilled we are able to add another strong driver to our lineup. Justin has shown the speed and talent it takes to compete at a high level, and his attitude and the way he carries himself away from the track are qualities that make him a very respectable person. We feel the talent he possesses will equal solid results on track as he makes his way up through the NASCAR ranks.”
