Cole Williams Looking for Redemption at Toledo

Twenty year-old, Cole Williams is ready to take care of unfinished business this weekend when he straps into the seat of his No.15 Cardinal Services Toyota for the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway on Sunday, May 22.

Williams, making his second career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start, is looking for redemption and a chance to prove himself in ARCA.

Williams made his ARCA debut at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville, but lost his transmission at the green flag. Settling for a disappointing 25th place finish at his home track in his first ARCA race does not sit well with a determined Williams.

“I’ve had Toledo circled on my calendar since the night I left Nashville,” said Williams. “We had a great Toyota that night – a top-5 car, maybe even better. It was not the way I envisioned starting my ARCA career or representing this team,” said Williams. “I’m determined to make the most of my next shot and race for a checkered flag.”

Headed to an unfamiliar track, Williams is counting on the experience of his Venturini Motorsports team to help reduce his learning curve and prepare a race winning car.

“Having a proven team behind me and now having some ARCA experience is going to really help. I was a bit anxious going into my first start in a new series. I’m definitely going into this a lot more confident than I was at Nashville,” added Williams.

“I was able to quickly adapt to the ARCA car in my first start so this time around it will be about learning how to drive Toledo’s half mile track. I’ve watched a bunch of old races and studied the track a lot – I feel if everything goes well with pit stops and strategy we’ll be there at the end.”

Winning Crew Chief, Jeff McClure will be atop the pit box for Williams at Toledo. McClure, who went to victory lane with Christopher Bell at Salem last month, also served as crew chief for Todd Gilliland last season when the 15-year old driver won at Toledo in his ARCA series debut.
