Burgeoning NASCAR Stars Coming To Greenville-Pickens For K&N Pro Series East Race This Saturday

The first of two appearances by NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East on the fast half-mile at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in 2016 will take place this Saturday, March 26th

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series, which includes the East and the West, is the top step in NASCAR’s developmental ladder before drivers progress to the three national series.

Since 2007, NASCAR K&N Pro Series veterans have made a significant impact at the national level, including 2011 Daytona 500 champion Trevor Bayne, 2015 Daytona 500 champion Joey Logano, and 2014 NASCAR XFINITY Series champion Chase Elliott, along with Ryan Blaney, Austin and Ty Dillon, Kyle Larson, Ryan Truex, Darrell Wallace Jr., and Daniel Suarez.

2014 Greenville-Pickens K&N Pro Series East race winners Ben Rhodes and Austin Hill and 2015 winner William Byron are all now racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Georgia native Spencer Davis, who currently leads the 2016 series standings after two races, will compete for Ranier Racing with MDM Motorsports along with Easley, South Carolina speedster Kyle Benjamin.

Davis, who has won over a hundred main events and scored twice as many podiums competing in go-karts, modifieds, late models, super late models and now the K&N Pro Series East, is anxious to get on the track this weekend.

“I’ve heard a lot about the racing at Greenville-Pickens for the K&N East cars and I’m ready to get a win in this series,” Davis said.  “Lorin (Ranier) and his team have given me an amazing opportunity, and I am excited to come to a big, fast track like Greenville and see if I can get them a win.  Kyle and I will both be ready to rock on Saturday!”

As for Dippel, who stunned series insiders with a dominating performance last weekend in Mobile, Alabama to win his first series race in only his second start for HScott Motorsports, Greenville-Pickens will be another step in his process of learning the full-size cars.

“I grew up racing the Big Block Dirt Modifieds up in New York State,” the 15-year-old explained.  “The motor in those cars is bigger than our K&N East motor.  But the way you have to drive these cars, and obviously the fact that we’re on asphalt, is definitely a difference for me.  I have driven super late models, but these are a different car altogether. I still can’t believe we won in our second start in the series!  I owe that all to my HScott Motorsports team, and William Byron led all the laps last year to win at Greenville-Pickens driving for the same organization.  I know I have a lot to learn still, so my goal is to do my best and if I can get us a second win in a row, I’ll give it all I have to do it!”

Nearly 25 cars are expected with drivers from around the nation, including K&N Pro Series West 2015 Rookie of the Year Noah Gragson.

The track’s 4-Cylinder and Renegade divisions will share the card, so make your plans now to attend this special night of racing at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

Racing starts at 7pm.
