Brandon Gdovic to Pilot the No. 46 Verizon Toyota Camry in the Mobile 150 at Mobile Speedway

Reigning Lamborghini Gallardo World Champion, Brandon Gdovic, will return to stock car racing for the Mobile 150 at Mobile Speedway on March 12th, 2016. Gdovic will pilot the No. 46 Verizon Toyota Camry for the track’s inaugural K&N Pro Series East event.

Gdovic, a veteran of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, has accumulated 48 starts since his series debut in 2011, punctuated by a win at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in 2013. In addition to one win, his series’ highlights include nine top-five, and 21 top-10 finishes.

Gdovic graduated to the NASCAR XFINITY Series in 2015, posting a career-best finish of 13th at Watkins Glen International in his first race. He spent the season competing in multiple XFINITY Series races while simultaneously taking on the new challenge of sports car racing. The 24-year-old joined Mitchum Motorsports to pilot their Lamborghini Gallardo in the Super Trofeo Series. In 13 starts, Gdovic won top amateur honors 10 times, securing the North American Amateur Championship and the Gallardo World Championship at the World Finals event at Sebring International Raceway.

Gdovic’s success in all forms of motorsports caught the attention of the community and he joined the Performance Tech Motorsports’ driver lineup for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona at the Daytona International Speedway to begin the 2016 season. But Gdovic is looking forward to returning to his oval-racing roots.

“I am excited about getting back in a K&N Pro Series East car on an oval for the first time since 2014”, said Gdovic. “I’ve never been to Mobile International Speedway before, but it looks like a pretty quick half mile. Luckily, we’ll be able to go test before we head there for the race weekend and get some good data to work from.”

Gdovic will spend Saturday, March 5th testing at Mobile International Speedway with the PPM team, led by crew chief Mark Setzer.

“I am looking forward to working with Brandon this weekend at Mobile. This race will allow Brandon, the team, and me to work together in preparation for the Bristol XFINITY Series race next month,” said Setzer. “This will be my first K&N Pro Series race and Brandon’s first race at Mobile but we have a great notebook to reference and test will help us be fully prepared.”

The inaugural Mobile 150 will get underway Saturday, March 12th at 2:00pm CT.
