Frank Kimmel takes the #46 Team Stange Juice Replace Batteries to a 5th place finish at Daytona

10 Time ARCA Series Presented by Menards Champion Driver Frank Kimmel wasted no time Saturday carrying out Sponsor, Juice Replay Batteries’  orders of winning his 11th championship and the 1st for Team Stange and Juice Replay Batteries Saturday in Daytona. Frank brought the number 46 Ford from the tail of the field after qualifying 25th and then being moved to the rear after the team had to replace a drive shaft that was damaged in qualifying to a 5th Place finish.  Placing the Driver and Team 5th in the Championship points as they head to Nashville, TN on April 9th.

The 10-time champ didn’t stop for any tires during the 80-lap race in General Tire’s first event as ARCA’s official tire. There were very few tire issues throughout the race. No incidents on the day were of any consequence to Kimmel. Frank drove through many wrecks and avoided the big one when Mark Thompson collected Matt Kurzejewski and another car on lap 18.

“My guys fought really hard and, of course, [we avoided] a lot of crashes today that put a lot of people out. We had great pit strategy today. Kelly Bires did a super job, Dave Weltmeyer and the crew as superb. We stayed out on these General tires and they ran perfect the whole race; we never put a tire on it. This is a pretty special day for us. We’re championship contenders and that’s what you got to do to start out “a championship run” — score a top-five.”

“I got to thank the 22 car, he pushed really hard,” Kimmel said of the late surge that catapulted him up the outside lane. “I think we gained four or five spots down the backstretch. That’s the first time I think I was legitimately passing people all the way down the back-straightaway. It was pretty cool. I have to thank Juice Replay Batteries as well as John and Ashley Stange for believing in me and letting me do this.” Stated: Frank Kimmel

The Team Stange Racing crew headed back to their Chicago suburb race shop to prepare their cars for the balance of the season with a little extra pressure now of being right in the Championship Hunt.  “This is a great feeling right now but not a surprise, we have good equipment, a great driver and a terrific group of people along with a top notch sponsor in Juice Replay Batteries making this team a contender. We all work really hard”. Stated: Team Owner Ashley Stange

Next Stop in the Championship for Team Stange is April 9th in Nashville, TN.
