RACE 101 Expands With Addition of Jerry Babb

It was announced today that as it continues its rapid growth, RACE 101 is excited to welcome veteran crew chief Jerry Babb and his company, Nu Style Motorventures, to the team in order to head up their NASCAR K&N Pro Series program for the 2016 season.

Most recently, Babb worked with Bassett Racing drivers Ronnie and Dillon Bassett in the K&N Pro Series East, guiding the young drivers to career best finishes, most notably a win at Motordrome Speedway and a runner-up placement at Iowa last May. Other drivers he has worked with include multi-time K&N and modified champion Mike Stefanik, Corey LaJoie, along with current NASCAR rising stars Alex Bowman and John Hunter Nemecheck.

“Last year was the hardest and most fun year of racing I’ve ever experienced,” said Tony Blanchard, team owner at RACE 101. “It brought back a fire and a desire to compete at the highest levels and I look forward to the challenges of 2016 and beyond. Jerry is a great addition to this team and having him take over the K&N program will allow me to focus on developing Sarah’s career.”

Blanchard reiterated that RACE 101 was started to help young drivers advance their careers and learn through mentorship and teaching. This addition allows him more time and ability to focus on those endeavors.

Babb will oversee preparation of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series machines that Cornett-Ching will drive during 2016 while Blanchard will devote more time to her career and the business development of RACE 101. The team will compete first at Daytona International Speedway in ARCA competition next month, followed the next day by the first race of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series season at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida.

“First, I want to thank the Bassetts and wish them the best of luck going forward,” Babb explained. “I am excited for this opportunity as it allows me to grow my company, Nu Style Motorventures, with the added bonus of Tony Blanchard to work with and learn from. One reason I am so intrigued by this young driver is her work ethic and the story behind how she got here, you don’t see that often and I know wins are on the horizon for this team.”

“I am really looking forward to working with Jerry at the shop, and on the track,” said Cornett-Ching. “He will be vital to oversee preparation of the cars while I strive towards the upper echelons of this sport. Jerry has a proven track record that speaks for itself. I can’t wait to see how we click this season and what kind of results we can achieve.”
