NEMCO Motorsports to Continue Driver Development Program in 2016

NEMCO Motorsports offers a driver development program as an opportunity to further develop driving skills in a stock car with the Late Model program. The NEMCO Motorsports Late Model program will compete in 2016 with both Super Late Models and Pro Late Models.

There are many talented drivers available, as team owner Joe Nemechek understands. NEMCO Motorsports does not sponsor drivers and relies on sponsors to support the team through partnerships with companies and organizations, and funded drivers.

“We are searching for the right driver to partner with our race-winning NEMCO Motorsports Late Model fleet on the short-track level,” Nemechek said before expanding to the two-car NEMCO Motorsports contingent in 2015. “Being able to start at this level and help young drivers grow is just going to enhance our efforts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) and beyond.

“The goal of NEMCO Motorsports’ driver development program is to enhance and strengthen the skills needed to compete at NASCAR’s top levels.”

The NEMCO Motorsports Late Model program began with Joe Nemechek’s first purchase of a Late Model in 2011 to provide an outlet for his son, John Hunter Nemechek, to hone his driving skills. Over the years, NEMCO Motorsports has filled a trophy case with Allison Legacy Series and Late Model hardware, and the shop has filled with victory banners. Dominique Van Wieringen, driver of the No. 5 NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet, has strong performances during the 2015 season including five top-five finishes, as well as seven top-10 finishes.

Notable wins for the NEMCO Motorsports Late Model team since its inception in 2011 include: 2013 Miller Lite Super Late Model Series championship at the Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway (John Hunter Nemechek), SpeedFest 125 for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models at the Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia (John Hunter Nemechek 2014 and 2015), JEGS 100 for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models at the Milwaukee Mile (John Hunter Nemechek 2014), Chevrolet Performance 100 for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models at the Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Ind.
