Late Model Standout Travis Swaim To Race For Lira Motorsports In The ARCA Racing Series

Lira Motorsports and Late Model Racing standout Travis Swaim have announced that they will team up for several ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards races in 2016. Swaim, the 2012 UARA-STARS Champion, is a veteran NASCAR Late Model racer who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Lira Motorsports growing driver roster.

Travis will get acquainted with the Lira team and their Ford Performance cars in a test that the team has planned for December 16th at the .5-mile New Smyrna Speedway in Florida.

A North Carolina native, Swaim has been around racing his entire life. His dad, Mike, is a two-time champion of the former NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series and a NASCAR Xfinity Series veteran. His older brother, Mike Jr., won the Dash Series championship in 1997 and went on to become a winner in the ARCA Racing Series.

In his only previous start in the ARCA Racing Series, Travis started 9th and finished fifth at Salem Speedway in 2013. In only five Late Model starts this year, Travis has a pair of NASCAR Whelen All American Series wins, after capping off last season with a marque win in the prestigious Myrtle Beach 400.

“Carlos Lira was instrumental in making my ARCA Series start in 2013 possible,” Swaim recently stated. “He is a first-class guy, and he’s building Lira Motorsports into a first class organization. I’m looking forward to the test next month at New Smyrna, and I’m excited to see what we can do in 2016! ”

The Lira Motorsports team just wrapped up their first full season of ARCA Racing Series competition. Fielding two to four cars in every race, the team collected a total of 22 top ten finishes including two race victories. Their drivers also captured six Hard Charger Awards and three Rookie of the Race Awards.

Travis’s ARCA Racing Series schedule with the team will be announced at a later date.
