Hagar Nets 10th Top 10 of Season on Tricky Track During USCS Series Event

Derek Hagar posted his 10 th top-10 result of the season last Saturday at Riverside International Speedway.

Hagar advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race and from 10 th to seventh place in the USCS Series main event.

“The pill draw was man’s best friend,” he said. “If you could start up front and on the outside you were gold. The track was so hard and there was a lot of water on it so it stayed greasy all night. It finally started moving down about halfway through the feature and it was wide open from there on out. I passed three cars on the start and that was all she wrote.”

The result snapped a six-race streak of podium finishes.

Hagar gets the opportunity to bounce back quickly with USCS Series races this Wednesday at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss., and Thursday at Clayhill Motorsports Park in Atwood, Tenn.

“We’ve had good success at both of those tracks,” he said. “I love Magnolia and am really looking forward to getting back there. The weather isn’t looking as good for Thursday. Our goal is to race, but we’ll play it by ear to see what Mother Nature throws at us.”
