Weekend Preview: IHRA San Antonio Nationals Fueled by Sunoco at San Antonio Raceway

The International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series has two races left on the 2015 schedule and every championship is up for grabs. The San Antonio Nationals Fueled by Sunoco will be a pivotal race in determining who will bring home the number one spot at the Summit World Finals in a few weeks.

Three Nitro Jam Series classes are competing for points this weekend at San Antonio Raceway – AMSOIL Nitro Funny Car presented by Aeromotive, Pro Stock and Jet Dragster. Jason Rupert and Mike McIntire Jr. are one and two, respectively, in the Nitro Funny Car class with 104 points separating them. John Montecalvo has a 33 point lead over second-place driver Cary Goforth in Pro Stock and Elaine Larsen currently leads by 74 points over Kat Moller in Jet Dragster competition.

The Outlaw Fuel Altereds, Jet Trucks and two Nitro Harley’s will be onsite to join the professional classes on September 25 – 26. In addition, local sportsman racers will run an ET Bracket race in-between the professional sessions to add to the nonstop drag racing action on the quarter-mile.
