As the 2015 season at Hickory Motor Speedway comes to an end, Shane Lee would not be denied a trip to victory lane as he led 82 laps in route to his first win of 2015.
Shane Lee qualified his No.00 LeeBoy Chevrolet on the outside of the front row. When the green flag fell on the season finale 100 lap race, the field would string single file and Lee would drop into second. An early caution on lap 17 allowed Lee the opportunity to muscle his way around the 87 on the restart taking the lead and never looking back.
Lee would hold off charges from numerous competitors through several late race restarts, but in the end would make his way to victory lane for the first time in 2015. “It has been a great day” said Lee. “We tested on Friday and left really feeling like we hit on something and it paid off tonight. This gives us great momentum heading to Martinsville (Speedway) on Wednesday.”
Shane Lee and the No.00 LeeBoy team will be back on track October 4 for the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway.
