Dirt-Tracker Dippel Is Prepared For His ARCA Pavement Debut

Fifteen-year old Tyler Dippel is ready to take on Salem Speedway this Saturday, as the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards visits the famed Indiana track for the Federated Car Care Fall Classic 200. It will be the Wallkill, NY racers first time on the .555-mile high-banked paved oval.

Although his background is in dirt racing, Tyler is no stranger to paved short tracks. He competed in Super Late Models on pavement in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) last year, finishing in the runner-up position in PASS National points standings after holding the points lead up until the final race of the year. Throughout the year, he proved that he can adapt quickly to a variety of short tracks, collecting top five finishes at tracks including South Boston Speedway, Hickory Speedway and Greenville Pickens Speedway.

Tyler will switch from the Lira Motorsports number 58 car that he has raced in the past two ARCA Series races to the team’s number 38 entry. He is racing with sponsorship from Mohawk Northeast (Connecticut), D&A Concrete Contractors, and TyCar Trenchless Technologies, in addition to Lira Motorsports partners Momo, TraqGear and Ford Performance.

Tyler, along with his Lira Motorsports teammates, tested at Salem Speedway on Monday. In the full-day test, Tyler learned a lot about the balance and handling of the ARCA cars on pavement that he will be able to apply during this weekend’s event.

Tyler Dippel on racing at Salem Speedway: “Salem is definitely different than anywhere I have raced before due to the high banking. We had a great test day – the car was fast and handled good. I want to thank my family and friends for all of their support, as well as my sponsors that have been with me all year – Mohawk Northeast, D&A Concrete Contractors, and TyCar Trenchless Technologies. I feel very good about Saturday night’s race, and a I’m shooting for a top five finish!”
