Quality and Performance, Will Be The Standard…

Steve and Stephen Leavitt and Maurice Gallagher today announced the formation of Leavitt GMS Performance. The newly formed partnership of Leavitt GMS Performance housed in Statesville, N.C. specializes in chassis construction for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards (ARCA), and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) and NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and provides accompanying components. Leavitt GMS Performance looks to expand their presence in the NASCAR industry by continuing to provide quality craftsmanship for each customer.

Steve Leavitt and his son, Stephen Leavitt, are the founders of what was formerly known as Leavitt Performance, and have been in business since 1999. The Leavitt family has extensive experience in chassis building, maintenance, and repair across the top three NASCAR national touring series. The move to Statesville, N.C. provides a wealth of space, resources, and staff to continue to uphold their standard of quality chassis builds for customers.

“We’re really happy to be here and to work with the GMS Business Group” Stephen Leavitt said. “We’ve been in the chassis business since 1999 and are looking forward to the new partnership. This new venture will allow us to improve on what we’ve been doing for years. We can grow our staff and get back to where we were a few years ago; producing more chassis and providing faster repair service without losing the quality that we are known for.”

The Leavitt family’s racing history began in the late 1940’s with Steve’s father, Gardiner, racing around the northeast. The driving tradition was handed down to Steve, who began building cars in 1971. Today, Stephen continues the family legacy with his father as both Leavitt’s see the new partnership as an opportunity for expansion and to operate more efficiently.

“Right now, there’s not a lot of chassis suppliers outside of specific teams like there used to be” Steve Leavitt said. “Being in Statesville, we have room to expand now. We have been building truck chassis, K&N (Pro Series) and ARCA cars, and hopefully we can get some (NASCAR) XFINITY (Series) chassis built and be involved there.”

Director Mike Beam states the partnership will be highlighted by increased efficiency while continuing the quality construction that is associated with the Leavitt name.

“We’re really excited about starting Leavitt GMS Performance with the Leavitts” Beam said. “It’s great to partner with a group that has so much experience in the industry. We’re excited to be building chassis with them into the future, and being more efficient in the process. We’re all focused on furthering the quality of chassis construction and service the Leavitt’s have been known to provide for each of their customers.”

Leavitt GMS Performance has seen immediate success, including this past weekend across the ARCA Racing Series and NKNPSE. ARCA Racing Series point leader Grant Enfinger captured his fourth victory of 2015 at Berlin Raceway in a Leavitt GMS Performance chassis. Scott Heckert also scored a win in a Leavitt GMS Performance chassis, taking the checked flag in the NKNPSE at Watkins Glen International for HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks. Heckert led the way in a Leavitt GMS Performance sweep of the top three positions at the Glen.

Leavitt GMS Performance looks to set an industry standard by incorporating innovative technology and engineering resources into chassis design and the manufacturing of spare parts and components. The partnership features the benefit of business to business growth opportunities within the industry as a result.
