Corbin Rueschenberg Returns to Xtreme Outlaw Midgets With Tmez by His Side

14-year-old Corbin Rueschenberg of Mesa, Ariz. will return to the Xtreme Outlaw Midgets on Friday and Saturday at Atomic Speedway for the Chillicothe Classic. Rueschenberg will drive No. 26 Spike Chassis for sponsor CBC Steel Buildings with an SR-11x engine. Guiding Rueschenberg will be acclaimed National Midget driver Thomas Meseraull.

“Corbin is a good little driver and a clean racer. I’m excited to see what he can do,” Meseraull said. “He’s more mature than his age and a real nice kid. We could easily be a top-five car this weekend if everything goes right.”

“This weekend is going to be a blast,” Rueschenberg said. “Looking forward to getting back into Midgets. It’d be nice just jump right in and be comfortable. Thomas was one of the drivers that made me want to get into Midgets. He just made it look so fun.”

Meseraull has been on a hiatus from racing due to an injury but has stayed active throughout the downtime between driver coaching, his YouTube channel, and other activities.

Rueschenberg’s 2024 season has been primarily in winged 360 Sprint Cars in Northern California for the esteemed Tiner Hirst Enterprise No. 94 team. In four starts, he has finished in the top-seven in three of them.

His 2023 Xtreme Outlaw Midget season saw ten A-Feature appearances with four of them yielding top-ten finishes. The seat time and experience will be critical as the series heads to one of its fastest tracks at Atomic Speedway.

“Luckily I’ve been able to run some fast tracks like Pevely, and I have experience with some fast tracks in the wing car,” Rueschenberg said. “We will definitely be hauling the mail. The key will be trusting the car.”

“I told Corbin and his dad “Hey this will be your Eldora” and Corbin was all for it,” Meseraull said. “I like it because this is a track that separates men from the boys.”

Rueschenberg and Meseraull even spent a little bit of time on track racing against each other recently including at the Chili Bowl and at Davenport Speedway in 2023.

Action this weekend at Atomic will be on Friday and Saturday nights, joining the World of Outlaws both nights. Race fans can check out the action live on DIRTVision.
