Grant Enfinger Brings Home a Top-Ten Finish at Lucas Oil Raceway

Grant Enfinger and the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet qualified in the fifth position during Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell at Lucas Oil Raceway Park (LOR). Enfinger battled tight-handling conditions throughout the day’s two practice sessions and the 200-lap event. When the caution flag was displayed on lap 62, crew chief Kelly Kovski called Enfinger to pit road for two right side tires, wedge, track bar adjustment and fuel, putting Enfinger in the fifth position for the restart. The GMS Racing driver remained a top-five contender for the first portion of the race, until a tight-handling balance through the corners and tire wear caused Enfinger trouble. After a restart in the fourth position on lap 123, Enfinger started fighting the cars worsening condition, forcing him to slip back in the field. Enfinger piloted the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet SS to an eighth-place finish in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200. Heading into Pocono Raceway next weekend, Enfinger still holds the points lead.

GRANT ENFINGER QUOTE:
“Not the finish we wanted here at LOR. I was tight in the center throughout the whole race and we just couldn’t get it dialed in. My left front tire was not in the track there at the end and began chattering pretty bad. We just need to pick our heads up and focus on Pocono next weekend. Thank you to Allegiant Travel, Triple-K Construction, WURTH U.S.A and Portable Shade for all of your support.”
