Levine Targets Lucas Oil Raceway For His First ARCA Top Five Finish

David Levine heads to central Indiana on Friday for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway. This will be David’s first race at the .686-mile Indianapolis oval track.

The rookie driver from Highland Park, IL enters the race with seven top ten finishes through the first dozen races of the year, including a 10th place run last week at Iowa Speedway. David’s Iowa results increased his lead in the Scott Rookie Challenge standings from 28 points to 32 points over second place in ARCA’s rookie of the year battle. In the overall series driver points standings, David is solidly in the fifth position.

One of the big stories in last week’s race was the heat, with the real-feel temperature exceeding 110 degrees at the track. With more hot weather a possibility for this weekend’s event, Lira Motorsports is more thankful than ever for its sponsor/partners Momo and TraqGear. Their products, TraqGear fire retardant tops and Momo shoes, gloves and steering wheel, go a long way in keeping David cool, comfortable and safe behind the wheel.

David Levine on racing at Lucas Oil Raceway: “It was great to rebound at Iowa, after the rough race we had at Winchester a few weeks ago. I’ve really been looking forward to Lucas Oil Raceway… it looks like a fun, but challenging place to race. I’ll be pushing as hard as I can to close the gap to the top three in ARCA points, and I think we’ve got  a good chance at the first top five of the year for the Lira Motorsports No. 59 Ford in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200.”

On-track schedule: First practice for the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 is scheduled for Friday, July 24th from 1:35-2:20pm, followed by final practice from 3:00-3:45pm. Menards Pole Qualifying Presented by Ansell is at 5:30pm. The green flag is scheduled for 9:00pm, with live coverage on Fox Sports 1. The race distance is 200 laps (137miles).
