Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Shifts To Combined Event At Lime Rock

The Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge event at Lime Rock Park on Saturday, July 25 – which was originally scheduled to include separate, two-hour races for the Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST) classes – now has been combined into one two-hour event in which both classes will race simultaneously.

The Continental Tire Challenge race at the Northeast Grand Prix will start at 10 a.m. and now will offer at-track fans an expanded hour-long prerace Fan Walk on the grid. The combined race will be streamed live on IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app, and will be televised on FOX Sports 1 from 12-2 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 2. Previously announced television windows were from 9-11 a.m. ET for the ST race and 1-3 p.m. for the GS race on Aug. 2.

“The FOX Sports 1 television window is more attractive for a combined event,” said David Pettit, IMSA vice president, marketing. “The combined event also allows us to start later in the morning, which should be popular with the fans, and an expanded Fan Walk will make the at-track experience even better.”

The Continental Tire Challenge race will follow a morning warm-up session for the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Prototype Challenge (PC) and GT Daytona (GTD) machines, which will compete in a two-hour and 40-minute race beginning at 3:15 p.m. ET.

The TUDOR Championship will feature an all-driver autograph session at the team transporters in the newly renovated paddock, which is open to all Lime Rock Park ticketholders, and also will have a prerace Fan Walk on pit lane. The TUDOR Championship Northeast Grand Prix will be streamed live on IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app, and will be televised on FOX Sports 1 at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 26.

Tickets for the Northeast Grand Prix are available now at www.limerock.com.
