Legends Big Money 100 to Air Sunday on SPEED

Highlights from the most prestigious Legend Car event of the year, the Legends Big Money 100, will air Sunday, Sept. 18, at 1 p.m. (EDT) in a special 30-minute television program on SPEED.

Co-hosted by veteran motorsports announcers Larry McReynolds and Mike Joy along with pit reporter Derek Pernesiglio, the Legends Big Money 100 broadcast will bring viewers all the exciting action of the spectacular two-day grassroots racing event, plus driver interviews and feature stories surrounding the future stars of NASCAR racing.

More than 200 drivers from 22 states and Canada competed for a share of the $100,000 purse in the Legends Big Money 100, which took place Aug. 1-2 on the frontstretch quarter-mile oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Competitors included notables such as current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver David Ragan, former NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Jeff Green, Kevin Harvick Inc. development driver Gray Gaulding, 2011 Pro division Summer Shootout Series champion Sean Rayhall and 2010 Legends Million winner Daniel Hemric.

“Legend Car racing has become the most successful form of grassroots racing in the country,” said Don Hawk, vice president of business affairs for Speedway Motorsports Inc. “Joey Logano, Kurt and Kyle Busch, Reed Sorenson and even Dale Earnhardt Jr., are among the dozens of NASCAR drivers who’ve developed their skills behind the wheel of a Legend Car.
