Venturini Motorsports with Deep Chicago Racing Roots Returns to the Windy City with One Goal at Chicagoland Speedway

Longtime ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards team, Venturini Motorsports, return to their racing roots this weekend for the annual running of The SCOTT 150 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Since ARCA’s inaugural race at Chicagoland Speedway in 2001, VMS has amassed an impressive track stat sheet. The formidable ARCA team has compiled 29 career starts with 21 different drivers at Chicago area track which include 3 pole awards, two wins (Scott Lagasse Jr. ’09/Kevin Swindell ’12), 9 Top-5 and 19 top-10 finishes.

Venturini Motorsports’ looks to continue their ‘hometown’ success at Chicagoland Speedway with a stout three team driver lineup featuring 10-Time ARCA Champion Frank Kimmel, Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) Development Driver Cody Coughlin and standout JGR/KBM NASCAR driver Daniel Suarez all vying for victory lane.

Frank Kimmel will make his 14th consecutive start and first with his new team at Chicagoland Speedway. Kimmel will be driving his familiar No.25 Ansell-Menards Toyota. Like most tracks on the circuit, Kimmel has had his share of success at Chicago earning one victory, six top-5 and 12 top-10 finishes.

Coming off his runner-up finish at Michigan, Kimmel is riding confidence and determination, looking to capture his first series win since 2013 when he won his series best 80th victory at Kansas Speedway.

Cody Coughlin, driver of the No.55 JEGS Toyota, has been knocking on the door and ready to breakout at Chicago with his first ARCA series win. The 19-year old driver finished fifth at Chicagoland Speedway in his only career start at the 1.5-mile track last season. Coughlin, with 16 career ARCA starts, has one pole, five top-five and 11 top-10 finishes to his credit.

Daniel Suarez will return to the ARCA series for his third career start with Venturini Motorsports – driving the No.15 ARRIS Toyota. Earlier this year Suarez finished second in the series opener at Daytona International Speedway and earned a fifth place finish last season in his series debut at Kentucky Speedway.

Suarez will be pulling double duty this weekend driving the No.15 ARRIS Toyota during the ARCA race and the No.18 ARRIS Toyota Camry in the NASCAR XFINITY nightcap Saturday in Chicago.

Suarez, a native of Monterey, Mexico, is on the fast track and making the most of his opportunities with Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR XFINITY Series and Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Since 2014, Suarez has made 15 XFINITY starts earning one top-5 and four top-10 finishes. In seven NASCAR truck starts he has three top-5 and 6 top-10 finishes.

Venturini’s have long time ties to Chicagoland racing history.

For over 60 years the Venturini family name has been synonymous with racing history in the Chicagoland area. Before moving their race operations from Chicago to Concord, NC in 1989, the family was well known for their success in and around the Chicago area for many years.

The late Tony Venturini, father of two-time ARCA driver champion Bill Venturini, influenced the family’s path when he began his racing career during the early 1950’s racing locally at such places as Soldier Field, O’Hare Stadium and Meadowdale Raceway – these tracks now just a distant memory and unknown to most modern day racers.

Bill Venturini continued the tradition during the 70’s and 80’s securing the family name in local racing history with success at Rockford Speedway, Illiana Speedway, Grundy County Speedway and Waukegan Speedway before moving onto successful careers in the ARCA and NASCAR series’.

Prior to spearheading Venturini Motorsports successful driver development program, third-generation driver Billy Venturini made his local mark driving at Rockford Speedway and becoming the only family driver to race at Chicagoland Speedway with seven starts between 2001 and 2007.
