On Tuesday June 9, the Hot Rod Power Tour and Memphis International Raceway are going to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for largest continuous tire burnout.
The record was set in Australia on Jan. 1 of this year when 103 cars lined a drag strip and smoked their tires all at once.
Here is a video of that attempt: https://youtu.be/7It81_habgs
The Hot Rod Power tour is expected to bring more than 3,000 classic cars and their drivers to Memphis International Raceway starting at noon. There is an entire day of activity planned at the track with a Manufacturers Midway, autograph sessions with automotive celebrities such as Courtney Hansen of the television series “Overhaulin'” and participation from local businesses such as COMP Cams.
