Ford, Mazda Join List of Manufacturers Featured on All-New IMSA Mobile App

In recognition of the unparalleled “second-screen” experience provided by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) mobile app, which launched earlier this month, Ford and Mazda have become the latest automotive manufacturers to join the app as official partners alongside BMW, Chevrolet and Porsche.

The app is available now on the app store for iOS, Android and Windows devices. Fans that register for the app and select their favorite manufacturer will have a customized experience, which curates the news and information they receive in-app and tailors the manufacturer content to the choice of the user.

The base experience includes series news, videos and team and driver bios. The app truly comes to life during race weekends, allowing users to stream video and IMSA Radio audio, as well as view complete live timing and scoring.

Live offerings include steaming video of races (where available) for the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, along with IMSA Radio and live timing and scoring for all official sessions of the two series. During TUDOR Championship events, streaming in-car video and qualifying offers a unique experience to IMSA mobile app users.

Streaming video and IMSA Radio of Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama and Lamborghini Super Trofeo races also are available, as well as live timing and scoring of practice and qualifying. IMSA Radio race coverage and live timing and scoring is available for all Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda official sessions.

“We’ve already gotten a tremendous response to the app since its launch just prior to the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix powered by Mazda at the beginning of May,” said David Pettit, IMSA vice president, marketing. “Seeing the depth of information and technology available on the app in action was a catalyst for partners like Ford and Mazda to come onboard. It truly is a fantastic, second-screen experience and one that will grow even stronger over time.”

With the IMSA app, you won’t miss a minute of TUDOR United Championship action during the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers at the Raceway at Belle Isle Park.

Qualifying for the Prototype, GT Daytona and Prototype Challenge classes begins Friday, May 29, at 5:10 p.m. ET on IMSA.com. The one-hour, 40 minute Chevrolet Sports Car Classic begins at 12:05 p.m. ET, and will be televised live on FOX Sports 2. It will be re-aired beginning at 2 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
