TRG-Aston Martin Racing at the 12 Hours of Sebring with Victory In Their Sights

TRG-Aston Martin Racing North America, fresh off the season-opening Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, is ready to take the fight to the front of the IMSA TUDOR GT Daytona field this weekend at the famed 12 Hours of Sebring. Having had their chances at victory squandered by a lapped-traffic and unfortunate accident in January, TRG-AMR team drivers Christina Nielsen, James Davison, and Brandon Davis are heading to Florida with one place in mind – the top step of the podium.

Nielsen, in her first full season of IMSA competition, has been looking forward to the 12 Hours of Sebring since crossing the finish line at Daytona almost two months ago. Along with a strict training and fitness regimen, Christina has been working closely with the team at the raceshop and at the track testing. She’s approaching this full season of both IMSA and Pirelli World Challenge competition with the tenacity and dedication of her many previous racing seasons, though this year is her busiest and most serious period of professional motorsport yet.

“I feel so incredibly lucky to be racing with TRG and Aston Martin at this historic track,” stated Christina Nielsen, Team Driver, TRG-AMR North America. “I’ve been working really hard with the team – both on the development of my car and on the sponsor and marketing side of things. I believe we have a winning team with potential to go all the way here at Sebring. This is going to be a great race and we hope to be on the top step of the podium about 12 hours and five minutes after the green flag drops!”

Davison, a third-generation Australian racer is looking to put the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 on the pole for the sixth consecutive IMSA TUDOR race in a row. He captured the pole in the 007 car during the final four races of 2014, as well as taking the top spot in the Rolex 24 qualifying having now set the most consecutive number of poles in IMSA TUDOR history.

“Great car, great team and we have definitely advanced from last year when we were here at Sebring,” commented James Davison, Team Driver, TRG-AMR North America. “All the ingredients are there to secure the result we have been working a long time for. We don’t need any good luck, just no bad luck!”

California native and World Challenge Champion Brandon Davis came to win, but has another potential scheduling conflict to worry about during the 12 hour race this weekend. His wife Erica is 9 months pregnant and due with their first baby on March 24th. Davis, no stranger to the scheduling and travel requirements that a professional driving career demands, thinks that the cards will fall in his favor and that he will be watching the birth of his child with a Sebring victory fresh on his mind.

“I feel fortunate to be driving alongside Christina and James again, though the timing is a little tight with the birth of my son right on the horizon! We’ve got a great shot at a strong showing here,” added Brandon Davis, Team Driver, TRG-AMR North America. “We have a strong driver lineup and with the support of TRG we’ve given ourselves the best opportunity to run up front and compete for the victory. I think we showed at Daytona that we have the pace and ability to be up front and hopefully we can capitalize at the end of the race weekend.”

Sebring is one of the most storied circuits in North America, originally starting life as a US Army Air Corps training center during World War II. The 17-turn road course features some of the toughest track conditions known to professional racing, with teams from all over the world bringing their cars for what has become the infamous Sebring torture test.

Also of note are the two events following the 12 Hours of Sebring that TRG-AMR is hosting in typical grand fashion. The first is a private test day at Sebring, featuring a day of driving V8 Vantage GT4’s along with street and track cars on the high-speed portion of the track. Following that, the team packs up and heads over to St. Petersburg for the annual Grand Prix of St. Pete, where TRG-AMR secured the entire Dali museum and private grandstand for an exclusive hospitality and viewing experience like no other. With helicopter tours, wine dinners, and top-notch hospitality planned for the weekend, you can be sure to enjoy the Grand Prix in complete style with TRG-AMR.
