Solid Run for Scott Rookie Driver Cole Powell and Team BCR Racing at Daytona

During his second ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start at Daytona International Speedway, Cole Powell finished 20th after having a strong run in the top-5 throughout the race.

The 2015 ARCA Racing Series season opener weekend started out slow considering Team BCR was forced to switch to their back-up motor before Friday’s final practice session.

Starting the Lucas Oil 200 presented by AutoZone in the 38th position, Powell had to rely on strategy to make his way up to the front. An early caution came out on lap 13, allowing the team to bring the #88 Tricar, Casite Ford Fusion to pit road for fuel and adjustments. The #88 Ford was sent back out to the 25th position to restart on lap 19. The second caution of the race came out on lap 33, giving Powell the chance to make up positions while the leaders pit.

Powell restarted in the 2nd position on lap 38. Cole Powell kept inside the top-10 until getting shuffled up during a final restart on lap 64, finishing the race up in 20th.

“We had the ability to finish in top-5, if not better,” says Cole Powell. “I’m very thankful for Howard Bixman and the rest of the crew at Team BCR. They worked so hard throughout the whole weekend to put me in the position for a win.”

Team Manager, Howard Bixman said, “It’s all just a part of speedway racing. We got shuffled out of the draft towards the end of the race. On the plus side, Cole was able to receive a lot of valuable seat time and did a great job all day. We overcame a lot of obstacles throughout the entire weekend and I’m very proud of this entire team for their dedication and effort.”
