Ben Kennedy Racing Unveils New Car

Team principal Ben Kennedy and driver Kaz Grala unveiled the team’s No. 3 Kiklos Toyota Camry that will be driven by the 16-year-old Boston native in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in 2015.

“I think everyone at Toyota and NASCAR should be proud of the way this Camry looks,” said Kennedy. “This was a big step for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series to get a more modern body style on the cars and also make a major move to cut costs for the teams competing. The flange-fit design is going to be a major game changer and I’m excited to see what the series will look like moving forward.”

The new body design is divided into 12 flange-fit panels. The panels will make it easier for teams to install and quickly repair a damaged racecar at the track. The body should ultimately help cut labor costs, increase aerodynamic performance on the car and provide a safer environment for the drivers.

Grala shared his excitement about the new body style in a statement made earlier this month, “I think NASCAR really hit the nail on the head with these bodies and I’m very excited to see them out on the track!”

The move to Toyota for Ben Kennedy Racing coincides with Ben Kennedy’s move to Red Horse Racing for the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. Since joining NASCAR in 2004, Toyota has accumulated over 280 wins and 14 championships.

“Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is very involved in making sure their cars and drivers perform at their absolute best,” said Grala. “Toyota’s commitment to the NASCAR ladder system is second to none and I couldn’t be happier to drive this 2015 Kiklos Camry.”

Kiklos Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil is expanding their relationship with Kaz Grala for the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season by moving from an associate sponsor to a multi-race primary sponsor. The first race for Kiklos will be the season-opening New Smyrna 150 on February 15

The 2015 season will also mark a new era for the Daytona Beach based team, as they switch from the familiar No. 96 to the No. 3. “The No. 3 was my dad’s number when he raced and has been my number since I started racing. I was sad to see it go in 2014,” Grala explained. “It’s very cool to have the number back again, and hopefully we’ll drive it to Victory Lane on Sunday.”

The No. 3 Kiklos Camry will take to the high banks of New Smyrna Speedway on Saturday, February 14 for an open test in preparation for the season opener. The session will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and is open to the public. The Hart to Heart Breast Cancer Foundation 150 is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m green-flag start on Sunday, February 15.
