Mallett Elects Pick-and-Choose Racing Schedule in 2024 With Opening Weekend on Tap

This year has brought new life into Jordon Mallett’s world.

Mallett, who is coming off a strong season when he earned a career-best third-place finish in the ASCS National Tour championship standings, is shifting the racing plan this season as he and his wife, Madison, welcomed a daughter in late March.

“I am blessed to have a healthy child and wife, whom I’m in awe of after the way she’s handled everything,” he said. “It has certainly been an adjustment that I’m sure anyone who has had a newborn has undergone, but we’re enjoying every moment.”

The offseason following one of Mallett’s best years in racing was busy as he worked to continue building his racing team as well as planned for his first child. Thrown into the mix was the tumultuous situation surrounding the 2023 points fund payout under previous ASCS ownership. All of those ingredients mixed together for Mallett to elect a pick-and-choose schedule for this season. He will race from mid-April through the fall.

“I’m grateful to have so many partners with our team who support me,” he said. “We decided to begin racing a little later this season than usual and will select the best option of racing each week. We will run some ASCS National Tour shows and I’m eager to see how the series does with the new leadership.”

Mallett is aiming to hit the track for the first time this Friday and Saturday at Super Bee Speedway in Chatham, La., during the ASCS National Tour’s season-opening weekend.

“We’re really excited to just get the season going and get back in a routine,” he said. “It’s a place close to home, but a place we haven’t been to. We worked hard throughout the offseason and we are ready to get things started. We just want to run really well. I feel we have a really good package and we’ve constantly been refining it. I want to come out of the gate and qualify strong to put ourselves in a good position.”
