Ben Kennedy Racing partners with Total Lubricants

Ben Kennedy Racing has partnered with Total Lubricants for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Season. The partnership with Total will make Ben Kennedy Racing the first NASCAR K&N Pro Series team to utilize the lubricants, which have helped Red Bull’s Formula 1 team win four consecutive Constructors Championships.

Total has a winning legacy world wide, most notably capturing championships in Formula 1 and World Rally Championship. World Rally Champion Sebastian Loeb has been successful in his relationship with Total. Total lubricants were Loeb’s choice when he shattered the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Record.

Total has been the official partner of the Dakar Rally, the most grueling endurance challenge in the world for over twenty years. Total Lubricants are official partners of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).

“Total Lubricants is excited to make our foray into NASCAR with Ben Kennedy Racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series,” said Michael Don of Total Specialties USA, Inc. “Ben Kennedy Racing is a winning team, and we are excited to be the Official Lubricant Partner of their Daytona Beach, FL based NASCAR Team. We are excited for them to have our products in their hauler, generators, pit box, and especially the No. 96 Ben Kennedy Racing Chevrolet, driven by Kenzie Ruston.”

“We are extremely excited that Total has chosen Ben Kennedy Racing”, said Mike Fritts, Crew Chief of the 96 Chevrolet. “It’s a great feeling to have the “Advantage” on the rest of the field by using Total Lubricants, not only in our race engines, but in all of our team vehicles, haulers, and race equipment as well. Total is more than just oil; they bring a championship legacy to our team, and our driver Kenzie Ruston. Total is paving our way to Victory Lane and we are proud to have them on board.”

“I’m excited to have Total Lubricants in our race car,” said Kenzie Ruston, driver of the Ben Kennedy Racing #96. “Total Lubricants historically align themselves with Championship caliber drivers, so I feel honored that they selected my team and me personally. I certainly think the accomplishments speak for themselves, I can’t wait to be the first driver to take them to Victory Lane in NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series division.”

Team Principal Ben Kennedy feels his team will greatly benefit from the new partnership with Total Lubricants. “We have a lot of equipment beyond the race car,” said Kennedy. “Total Lubricants will be in our team hauler, all of our generators, and every piece of equipment that we use to get to and from the race track. Racing is full of moving parts and pieces.  Having Total Lubricants gives me the piece of mind that our equipment will last longer and perform better.”

Total Lubricants will be the Official Lubricant of Ben Kennedy Racing. Currently, Ben Kennedy Racing competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, a developmental series in NASCAR’s regional touring series. Team Principal Ben Kennedy won two races and two poles in 2013. Kennedy moved to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2014, and hired Kenzie Ruston to drive his #96 Chevy.

In 2014, Ruston has two top-5 finishes and five, top-10 finishes. Ruston holds the record for highest finishing female in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series of second (August 1, 2014, Iowa Speedway). Ruston also holds the record for the highest finishing female in NASCAR K&N Pro Series Season Points, with her sixth place finish in 2013.

Ruston was runner up to Ben Kennedy in 2013 in the Most Popular Driver voting, and was unanimously selected as Speed51.com’s Most Popular Driver. Ruston has been a winner at every level of competition since she began racing at the age of 14.
