Patrick Schober joins RDV Competition to fight for the EuroNASCAR 2 title

Patrick Schober has found a new home for the 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season. The Spanish-born, Slovakian-raised Austrian will join RDV Competition to share the #3 Ford Mustang with reigning EuroNASCAR 2 Champion Paul Jouffreau. The 19-year-old made his EuroNASCAR 2 debut with Double V Racing in 2022 and scored his first race win at Oschersleben in 2023. With Franck Violas’ RDV Competition, Schober has a championship-winning team to help him compete for the 2024 EuroNASCAR 2 title.

Schober finished fourth in the 2023 EuroNASCAR 2 season and impressed with a spectacular race win in Germany. A total of seven top-5 finishes rounded out a strong sophomore season for the driver who calls Vienna, Austria and Bahon, Slovakia home. With his first race win, Schober joined Mathias Lauda, Philipp Lietz and Florian Renauer in the exclusive club of Austrian NASCAR race winners, but the goal is much higher for him: Schober wants to be “the first Austrian to win a NASCAR championship”.

“My goal is to win the championship and I believe I can do it with RDV Competition,” said Schober about joining the French powerhouse that won two EuroNASCAR 2 championships with Jouffreau and Ulysse Delsaux. “I just love meeting all the passionate NASCAR fans at the tracks across Europe and fighting the hard but fair battles on the track. Driving side by side in these cars is just incredible.” Schober is also a student who will graduate during the 2024 season, so the 19-year-old has a lot of work ahead of him.

Team owner Violas is excited to welcome Patrick to the team: “Having Patrick on our team is a great opportunity. The deal was done because of the great work between his management Motorsportaktiv and my team. We want to give him the best environment to become a EuroNASCAR 2 champion. It was important for us to find the best EuroNASCAR 2 driver available to have another shot at the title.”

“We have high ambitions for 2024, as we want to have a say in the title battles in both championships,” continued Violas. “Patrick has already proven to be strong in the EuroNASCAR 2 division. Running two drivers at this level is also a great opportunity for RDV Competition to chase the team championship for the third time. Patrick is a fast, serious and hard-working youngster who knows what it takes to be successful in motorsports.”

RDV Competition relies on the vast experience of legendary engineer Claude Galopin, but also on veteran racer Frederic Gabillon, who will continue to support the team. RDV Competition is one of the most successful teams on the grid, so Schober will certainly be one of the title contenders in EuroNASCAR 2, but the division has become the most unpredictable championship in the world of NWES. The 2024 season kicks off April 13-14 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. All races will be streamed live on the EuroNASCAR YouTube channel.
