Greenville-Pickens Speedway…The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) heads back to Greenville-Pickens Speedway for the second time this season for the 15th race of 2014. Earlier this year, TSM put forth a strong showing at Greenville, as Ben Rhodes went on to capture his first-career NKNPSE victory. Cameron Hayley and Kaz Grala brought home solid top 10s, while also leading laps in the 150-lap event. Scott Heckert looks to have a stronger showing in the second Greenville-Pickens race, as the 20-year-old is coming off back-to-back victories in the previous two NKNPSE races, both on road courses.
Kaz Grala…Grala comes into this weekend’s race at Greenville looking to build upon the strength of six straight top 10s. The youngest full-time driver in the NKNPSE had two strong runs on the road courses, bringing home top-five finishes in both. Grala hopes for more of the same as the NKNPSE returns to Greenville-Pickens, where the 15-year-old led 15 laps and brought home a seventh-place finish earlier this season. Grala enters the Greenville 140 sitting sixth in the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings.
Kaz Grala on returning to Greenville-Pickens:
“Greenville-Pickens is the only track besides Iowa that we go to twice this season, and it’s good to go back knowing you have that recent experience there. The spring race at Greenville was one of our better races all season, with the No. 31 OzLINK Chevy leading 15 laps and finishing a career-best [at the time] of seventh. I’m pumped to go back to a track where I’ve led laps already and hopefully this time I can lead on lap 140.”
Scott Heckert…Heckert enters this weekend at Greenville with an opportunity to compile three-straight victories in the NKNPSE. The 20-year-old looks to build off the momentum attained on the road courses after capturing his first-career NKNPSE win at Watkins Glen, followed by winning not only the pole at Virginia International Raceway, but also the race,. Heckert hopes for more of the same and looks to continue climbing up the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings, as he sits eighth heading into this weekend.
Scott Heckert on the chance to win three-straight races:
“Greenville-Pickens hasn’t been nice to us in the past. We have struggled a bit to get the car right, and don’t seem to catch any breaks. We tested here this past week and the car was pretty stable, so that’s an improvement. Combine that with the momentum we have and I think it’ll be a good race for my Project Lifesaver team.”
Ben Rhodes…Rhodes comes into Greenville with an opportunity to capture more than just a race victory. The NASCAR Next driver has a chance to win his first NASCAR championship by mathematically clinching the NKNPSE title at Greenville-Pickens. The 17-year-old needs to have a 48-point advantage over second-place leaving the 0.5-mile track in order to secure the championship. The last time the NKNPSE went to Greenville-Pickens, Rhodes had a tremendous outing, capturing his first-career NKNPSE victory in addition to the pole. Rhodes and the No. 41 Alpha Energy Solutions team look to complete the sweep this weekend. Currently, Rhodes leads the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings by 65 points heading into this weekend’s race.
Ben Rhodes on heading back to Greenville-Pickens:
“Going back to a track we’ve won at gives our whole Turner Scott Motorsports Alpha team a lot of confidence going into this weekend’s race. [Crew chief] Mark McFarland and my guys gave me a great Chevrolet that day and we were able to keep it up front most of the race. Last week we went back there to test prior to racing again and to try out a few new things, and we think we have a great car. If everything works out, hopefully we can get our sixth win of the year in addition to clinching the title.”
Cameron Hayley…Hayley heads into this weekend’s race at Greenville looking to score his first-career NKNPSE victory. The 18-year-old had strong runs in the series’ past two races and appeared poised to capture his first victory, but came up just short in both events. Hayley looks to capitalize this weekend as the series returns to Greenville-Pickens, where earlier this year he led laps and brought home a third-place finish. Hayley and the No. 98 Cabinets by Hayley team hope for more of the same while improving a few positions and picking up the victory. Hayley sits second in the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings heading into this weekend’s event.

“There are two races left on the schedule, and I am definitely hungry for a win. The No. 98 Cabinets by Hayley team has been so close this year and I truly believe we can get it done this weekend in Greenville.”
