RACE 101 goes ARCA racing with Mountain Man of Duck Dynasty

RACE 101 will make its ARCA Racing Series debut this weekend with a most unlikely pairing. Mountain Man – of A&E smash reality show Duck Dynasty fame – is sponsoring the RACE 101 entry piloted by the Flying Farmer, Karl Weber, in Sunday’s ARCA Racing Series event in Madison, Wisconsin.

Karl Weber, “The Flying Farmer,” is 16-year-old racer and he has raced a RACE 101 prepared super late model for the past few seasons. Mountain Man is Tim Guraedy, and he is hoping to promote the launch of his new website MountainMansWorld.com with the motorsports marketing initiative.
The opportunity to go ARCA racing was unexpected, and RACE 101 founder Tony Blanchard and crew spent countless hours preparing the No. 3 Chevy Impala for Weber to race in the Herr’s Live Life with Flavor 200.

“Opportunities like this are rare in racing,” said Blanchard.  “It’s not every day we get the opportunity to leverage our RACE 101 brand in a series like ARCA with Mountain Man on board.”

“We got the car together and tested at Hickory Motor Speedway this week. Karl did a good job, and the car performed well. Madison will be a different challenge, but we are ready.”

Blanchard’s racing resume includes racing at nearly every level of competition with various drivers including NASCAR Sprint Cup race winner Joey Logano, Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk, and numerous other standouts. This weekend’s ARCA venture marks the first time since RACE 101 was founded four years ago Blanchard will race at this level with the RACE 101 brand.

“Our team has put a huge effort into this outing,” said Blanchard. “Without the support of PME Engines, Buzze Racing, Comp Cal, New Fab Bodies, and our hard working crew, we wouldn’t be ready for the 14-hour journey to Wisconsin.”

Mountain Man, despite his slow-paced life, is also excited about the weekend.

“This will be a terrific opportunity to promote the launch of my new website, MountainMansWorld.com, and the launch of Karl’s new career in the ARCA Racing Series,” he said. “The only advice I can give Karl is to let ‘er rip tater chip!”

The Flying Farmer is a veteran racer who comes from an extensive karting background and who also has plenty of seat time in high-powered super late model machines prepared by RACE 101. ARCA stock cars will be a new challenge for Weber.

“It is going to be a great experience,” said Weber. “I want to thank Mountain Man for the opportunity to help promote his new website. I am a huge fan of Duck Dynasty and this is really going to be cool!”

Blanchard’s goal is to see the car finish the race in one piece, so his inexperienced driver can get the most possible seat time.

“Nothing beats race experience,” said Blanchard. “If we can keep Karl comfortable in the car and see the checkered flag at the end of the race, the weekend will be a success. We think this can be the start of something great.”
